Effects of U-Mo Irradiation Creep Performance on the Thermo-Mechanical Coupling Behavior in U-Mo/Al Monolithic Fuel Assemblies

To obtain the optimized fuel performance, effects of U-Mo irradiation creep rate coefficient on thermo-mechanical behavior a assembly are investigated. In this study, three cases considered. The distribution and evolution results temperature, displacement, stress/strain foil micro-structure analyzed. simulation indicate that with increase 1) temperature field in changes slightly; 2) maximum out-of-plane displacements side plates decrease adjacent to outside Al rise distinctly, induced by enhanced bending deformation contributions; 3) peak values first principal stresses skeleton normal foils reduced, while through-thickness strains enlarged; 4) an from 500 × 10 ?22 mm 3 /(fission MPa) 2,000 /(fission·MPa), Von Mises stress cladding decreases ?24% 308 th day. This work is helpful for advanced fabrication optimization design U-Mo/Al assemblies.
